Washington DC Adds New Employment Poster

March 30th, 2011

 A new employment poster called “The Right to Breastfeed” is the latest addition to the poster requirements for the Washington DC labor law poster.

The mandatory poster is issued by the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights.  It provides a summary of the following information:

  • Rights of women to breastfeed their children under the amended District of Columbia Human Rights Act of 1977
  • Employer responsibilities
  • How employees can file claims if the Act is violated

New Rhode Island Child Labor Poster Is Not Required

Q:  Do we need to post the new Rhode Island Child Labor poster?

 A:  The new Rhode Island Child Labor poster called “RI Child Labor Laws” is not a required poster, according to the RI Department of Labor & Training, so it does not have to be posted.

Idaho & Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Posters Change but Previous Versions OK

New minimum wage posters have been issued for Idaho and Pennsylvania, but the previous versions of both required state labor law posters are still valid. 

  • Idaho:  No update required for Minimum Wage poster.  Changes are previous minimum wage rates for 2007 and 2008 removed, and revision date changed to 7/09. 
  • PennsylvaniaNo update required for Minimum Wage poster Changes are names of Governor and Secretary of Department of Labor & Industry removed.  Revision date did not change.

Colorado Discrimination Poster Updated

The latest required change to the Colorado labor law poster is on the CO Anti-Discrimination poster.

The mandatory discrimination poster issued by the Colorado Division of Civil Rights has been updated with an expanded definition of discrimination based on sexual orientation, which now includes transgender status.

All types of discrimination covered by Colorado anti-discrimination laws are illegal in employment, housing and public accommodations.

North Carolina Workers Compensation Poster Updated

March 2nd, 2011

The latest required change to the North Carolina labor law poster is on the NC workers compensation poster.

Information has changed about available assistance with Safety Education Training from the North Carolina Industrial Commission, which is no longer provided at no cost.

We confirmed with the NC Industrial Commission that employers must update this poster.
