Connecticut Discrimination Poster Updated

April 20th, 2011

The latest required change to the Connecticut labor law poster is on the Discrimination poster.

Discrimination based on civil union status is now included on the mandatory CT discrimination poster issued by the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights & Opportunities.

Under Connecticut law this type of discrimination is  illegal in employment, housing and public accommodations, and credit transactions.

We are updating our Connecticut labor law poster with this latest change.  For more information about the CT labor law poster or to learn more about our OneSystem 1-Year Compliance Plan with automatic updates, go to the Poster Compliance Center Connecticut labor law poster page or call 1-800-322-3636.

Labor Law Posters & Planting a Tree for Earth Day 2011

April 6th, 2011

Poster Compliance Center is celebrating Earth Day the entire month of April  – and we invite you to share in the celebration. We will plant a tree for every OneSystem 1-Year Compliance Plan sold in April.

We’ve already planted thousands of trees and counting through American FoEco-friendly labor law posters Earth Day 2011rests Global ReLeaf program. Poster Compliance Center is proud to help American Forests meet its goal of planting 100 million trees by 2020. Since beginning our partnership with American Forests, we have planted a tree for every Go Green OneSystem sold, but in honor of Earth Day we are planting a tree in April for all new OneSystems.

Take the additional eco-friendly step of ordering a Go Green OneSystem this month and you’ll also save $20 off your order!

Here are two more ways you can join us in our celebration and plant a tree – simply like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter. (You can also find us on YouTube and LinkedIn.)

This is just one of the many campaigns we have planned during our year-long 20th anniversary celebration. As a leading publisher of labor law posters, Poster Compliance Center believes in giving back. This campaign is one way we are able to say “thank you” to our customers and communities. For more information about how Poster Compliance Center gives back, see our About Us page.

Washington Changes Workers Comp Poster but Previous Version Still OK

April 4th, 2011

You may have heard that a new Workers Compensation poster has been issued by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I).

Although the WA Workers Comp poster called “Notice to Employees – If a Job Injury Occurs” is a required state labor law poster, the new March 2011 version is not a required change, according to WA L&I.  The December 2008 version is still valid, and this version is already included on our Washington state poster.

The term “registered domestic partner” was added to the Death Benefits for Survivors section of the March 2011 Notice to Employees poster.

However, L&I explains that this change does not impose any new requirements since Washington state law says that “registered domestic partners have the same rights as spouses”,  so the term “spouse” – which is already on the poster – covers registered domestic partners.

For more information about the Washington labor law poster or to learn more about our OneSystem 1-Year Compliance Plan with automatic updates, go to the Poster Compliance Center Washington labor law poster page call 1-800-322-3636.
