Michigan Updates Youth Employment Poster; New MI Labor Law Poster Required
January 26th, 2012The latest required change to the Michigan labor law poster is on the MI Youth Employment poster.
Under October 2011 amendments to the Michigan child labor law, students age 16 or over may now work 24 hours in one week while school is in session.
This poster is now published by the Michigan Department of Education and includes information about the Department’s policy against discrimination.

Wisconsin Updates Hours for Minors Poster; New WI Labor Law Poster Required
January 26th, 2012The latest required change to the Wisconsin labor law poster is on the WI Hours for Minors poster.
New information includes:
- Minors under 14 may work in certain occupations, such as street trades or agriculture.
- Minors 16 and 17 years old must have eight hours of rest between shifts when they work after 11 p.m.

Maine Updates Minimum Wage & Child Labor Posters; New ME Poster Required
October 19th, 2011The latest required changes to the Maine labor law poster are on the Child Labor poster and the Minimum Wage poster.
- Child Labor Laws: New Maine child labor law extends the hours that 16- and 17-year-olds may work when school is in session.
- Minimum Wage: Pooling of tips may be required of service workers only.

Louisiana Updates Minor Labor Law Poster; New Poster Required
August 22nd, 2011The latest required change to the Louisiana labor law poster is on the LA Minor Labor Law poster.
Two changes were made to work hours and work days restrictions for minors under age 16 during the summer (June 1 to Labor Day) based on recent revisions to the Louisiana minor labor law.

Wisconsin Updates Child Labor Poster; New Poster Required
June 30th, 2011The latest required change to the Wisconsin labor law poster is on the WI child labor poster called “Hours and Times of Day Minors May Work in Wisconsin”.
The child labor poster, which has been almost completely changed, includes new information that state and federal laws do not limit the hours that minors age 16 or over may work, except that they may not be employed during required school hours.
A Maximum Hours of Work chart now covers only 14 and 15-year-olds.
Other new information covers required work permits, a meal period requirement and the minimum wage ($7.25 per hour) and “opportunity wage” ($5.90) for minors in their first 90 days.

New Rhode Island Child Labor Poster Is Not Required
March 15th, 2011Q: Do we need to post the new Rhode Island Child Labor poster?
A: The new Rhode Island Child Labor poster called “RI Child Labor Laws” is not a required poster, according to the RI Department of Labor & Training, so it does not have to be posted.

Employment of Minors Updated on Maryland Labor Law Poster
May 17th, 2010The latest change to the Maryland labor law poster is the extensive update of the Employment of Minors poster. This new version is required for all employers of minors.
All of these lists have been added to the Employment of Minors poster:
- A list of 17 occupations declared hazardous by the U.S. Secretary of Labor (and adopted by the state of Maryland) that are forbidden for minors under the age of 18
- An additional 10 occupations also forbidden for those under 18.
- Ten areas of employment restricted for minors 14 and 15 years of age
There is also new information about activities that are not considered employment under the law.

Missouri Expands Youth Employment List on State Labor Law Poster
May 10th, 2010The latest change on the Missouri labor law poster is on the Youth Employment List. This notice is required for employers with any employees under the age of 16.
Employers must list these workers on the poster, along with their shifts. Expanded information is also provided on the state labor law poster about work certificates for youth 14 and 15 years old and unacceptable types of work and workplaces for youth under 16.
