Oregon Labor Law Poster Updated with 2011 OR Minimum Wage

The latest required change to the Oregon labor law poster is the new minimum wage of $8.50 per hour, effective from Jan.1, 2011, to Dec. 31, 2011, according to the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries.

The annual Jan. 1 OR minimum wage adjustment is caused by any increase in the Consumer Price Index.  There was no OR minimum wage increase for 2010.

Arizona Labor Law Poster Updated with 2011 AZ Minimum Wage

The latest required change to the Arizona labor law poster is the minimum wage increase from $7.25 to $7.35, effective Jan.1, 2011, according to the Industrial Commission of Arizona.

The annual Jan. 1 AZ minimum wage adjustment is caused by any increase in the Consumer Price Index.  There was no AZ minimum wage increase for 2010.

Vermont Labor Law Poster Updated with 2011 VT Minimum Wage

The latest required change to the Vermont labor law poster is the minimum wage increase from $8.06 to $8.15 per hour, effective Jan.1, 2011, according to the Vermont Department of Labor.

The VT minimum wage rate for tipped employees will also increase Jan. 1 – from $3.91 to $3.95 per hour, and the maximum tip credit allowed increases from $4.15 to $4.20 per hour.

The annual Jan. 1 VT minimum wage adjustment is caused by any increase in the Consumer Price Index.  There was no increase for 2010.

Ohio Labor Law Poster Updated with 2011 Minimum Wage

The latest change to the Ohio labor law poster is the minimum wage increase from $7.30 to $7.40, effective Jan.1, 2011, according to the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Industrial Compliance and Labor.

The OH minimum wage for tipped employees will also increase – from $3.65 to $3.70 per hour, plus tips.

The annual Jan. 1 OH minimum wage adjustment is caused by any increase in the Consumer Price Index.  There was no increase for 2010.

Employers with a gross income of less than $271,000 must pay their employees the federal minimum wage ($7.25 per hour).

2011 Ohio Labor Law Poster Will Include New Minimum Wage Increase

The Ohio minimum wage will increase by 10 cents – from $7.30 to $7.40 – as of Jan.1, 2011, according to the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Industrial Compliance and Labor.

A new Ohio labor law poster including the 2011 minimum wage increase will be issued in the near future.

Oregon Labor Law Poster To Include 2011 Minimum Wage Increase

A 10-cent increase in the Oregon minimum wage will go into effect Jan. 1 as part of an annual adjustment for inflation, according to an official announcement from the Oregon Labor Commissioner.  This will bring the state rate from $8.40 to $8.50 per hour.

Oregon is the first of the eight states that have a minimum wage adjustment for inflation every Jan. 1 to announce a minimum wage increase.  The others are Washington, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, Ohio and Vermont.

The Oregon adjustment is based on any increase in the Consumer Price Index, which increased 1.15%.  There was no increase in the 2010 minimum wage rate.

Washington Changes Labor Law Poster on Worker Rights but Previous Version Still OK

You may have heard that a new “Your Rights as a Worker in Washington State” poster has just been issued by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I).

Although the “Your Rights as a Worker” poster is a required state labor law poster, the new May 2010 revision is not a required change.

According to the L&I website, the previous version of the poster – December 2008 – is still valid.

The December 2008 version of the Washington “Your Rights” poster is included on our current Washington labor law poster with a publication date of 5/10.  The December 2008 version of the poster marked the first time rights for non-agricultural workers and agricultural workers were combined on the same poster.

South Carolina Adds Wage Payment Requirement to Labor Law Poster

The latest required change on the South Carolina labor law poster is found on the S.C. Labor Law Abstract poster.

Employers must keep records of wages paid for three years, according to new information in the “Payment of Wages” section of the state labor law poster.

The website address for the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation has also been updated on the state labor law poster.

New Jersey Updates Payment of Wages Labor Law Poster

The latest required change on the New Jersey labor law poster is on the Payment of Wages poster.

New information states that the New Jersey Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development may direct any appropriate agency to suspend any licenses held by an employer who was previously given notice and an opportunity for a hearing.

The Commissioner is responsible for monitoring and enforcing a new state law (S. 2773) which allows certain licenses to be suspended when companies repeatedly violate New Jersey’s wage, benefits or tax laws.

New Illinois Minimum Wage Already Included on State Labor Law Poster

June 21st, 2010

Illinois minimum wage increases July 1 from $8.00 per hour to $8.25 per hour.  This is the final step of a multi-step increase.

Employers do not need to change their state labor law poster since the 6/08 version of the Illinois minimum wage poster, which lists the July 1, 2010, increase, is already included on our current Illinois all-in-one state poster with a publication date of 9/08.

Illinois first increased its minimum wage to $7.50 in July 2007, followed by an automatic 25-cent increase each year since then.

In addition to minimum wage and overtime, the Illinois minimum wage poster (called “Your Rights Under Illinois Employment Laws”) also covers Wage Payment, Equal Pay, VESSA (Victim’s Economic Security and Safety Act), One Day Rest in Seven and Child Labor.
