South Carolina Changes Labor Law Abstract; New Poster Required

August 8th, 2011

The latest required change to the South Carolina labor law poster is on the SC Labor Law Abstract poster.

New information in the “Immigrant Worker” section of the Labor Law Abstract states that all South Carolina employers must enroll in the federal E-Verify program as of Jan. 1, 2012.

  • Employers must use E-Verify to verify the employment eligibility of new employees.
  • Failure to use E-Verify for verification will result in probation for employer or suspension/revocation of employer’s business licenses.

We are currently updating our South Carolina labor law poster with this latest change.  For more information about the SC labor law poster or to learn more about our OneSystem 1-Year Compliance Plan with automatic updates, go to the Poster Compliance Center South Carolina labor law poster page or call 1-800-322-3636.
