Oklahoma Updates Workers’ Compensation Poster; New OK Labor Law Poster Required

The latest required change to the Oklahoma labor law poster is on the Workers’ Compensation poster.

New information states that the time limit for filing a compensation claim for a death has been extended to 2 years from the date of the death. The previous limit was 1 year.

Missouri Updates Workers’ Compensation; New MO Labor Law Poster Required

The latest required change to the Oklahoma labor law poster is a revised version of the Workers’ Compensation poster.

A new law effective Feb. 1, 2014, caused extensive changes to the poster, including new deadlines for claims and new information about fraud, notice of injury and services employers must provide.

Texas Updates Ombudsman Poster; New TX Labor Law Poster Required

The updated poster from the Office of Injured Employee Counsel (OIEC) includes

Georgia Updates Workers Comp Poster; New GA Labor Law Poster Required

Kansas Updates Workers Compensation Poster; New KS Labor Law Poster Required

The latest required change to the Kansas labor law poster is on the Workers Compensation poster.

Injured employees now have shorter time periods by which they must notify their employers or risk denial of their claims.

The updated poster applies to accidents on or after April 25, 2013.  The Kansas poster also includes a workers compensation poster which applies to accidents on or after May 15, 2011.

Maine Adds New Workers’ Compensation Poster; New ME Labor Law Poster Required

The latest required change to the Maine labor law poster is a new Workers’ Compensation poster.

The Maine workers’ compensation law was recently amended and the new poster (rev. 1/13) applies to injuries on and after 1/1/13.  The previous workers’ compensation poster (rev. 6/10) and this new poster must both be posted until 6/30/13, according to the Maine Workers’ Compensation Board.

The time limit for notifying the employer of an injury has been reduced from 90 days on the previous poster to 30 days on the new workers’ compensation poster.

Washington Updates Workers Comp, WISHA, Worker Rights Posters; New WA Labor Law Poster Required

Four posters have recently been updated on the Washington labor law poster – workers’ compensation, workers’ compensation (self-insured), safety & health, and worker rights.

Changes include:

  • Job Safety & Health – Employers must implement written accident prevention plan.  New information about training and protective equipment.  New information about filing complaints and appealing citations.  New Revision Date of 12/2012.
  • Your Rights as a Worker – New information about domestic partner care under state Family Leave Act.  Expanded domestic violence program.  New Revision Date of 12/2012.
  • Workers’ Compensation (Notice to Employees) – New information about choosing health care provider.  Workers should tell their employer about any work-related injury or condition.  Claims must be filed as soon as possible.  New Revision Date of 12/2012.
  • Workers’ Compensation (Self-Insured) – New information about what to do if a job injury occurs.  Workers should tell their employer about any work-related injury or condition.  Claims must be filed as soon as possible.  New Revision Date of 12/2012.

Kansas Updates Workers’ Comp Poster; No New KS Poster Required

Kansas has updated its mandatory workers’ compensation poster for accidents occurring on or after 5/15/11 by changing one phone number. The toll-free number is still the same. No new version of this poster is required.

Q&A: North Dakota Workers’ Compensation Poster

Q:  Our current vendor said there was a mandatory change to the ND Workers Compensation poster.  Is this a mandatory change?  

A: There are two North Dakota workers compensation posters.   However, one must be obtained and posted by the employer and the other is optional so they are not included on our North Dakota state poster.

  • Workforce Safety & Insurance (WSI) Certificate of Premium Payment (mandatory posting) – The employer must obtain the Workers’ Compensation Certificate of Payment (the employer’s proof of coverage) through ND WSI upon receipt of payment.
  • WSI Important Notice to Employees poster – This poster is optional (not mandatory).
