INDIANANew IN Labor Law Poster includes new updates:
TEEN WORK HOURS
(Required for employers who employ minors)
- New information added under new heading of "Break Requirements":
-Employer must maintain a break log for workers under 18.
-New information about breaks for minors
- 14 and 15 year olds may not work on school days after 7:30 am and before 3:30 pm.
- Restriction for 16 and 17 year olds to work a maximum of 9 hours per day no longer includes the words "not followed by a school day".
- In the "Graduates " section those who have earned a high school equivalency have been added to those not covered by hour restrictions.
- Format changed with several new headings.
MINIMUM WAGE POSTER
- Notice rewritten
- Law generally requires employers to pay employees at least the minimum wage for all hours worked
- Law requires every employer subject to the Indiana Minimum Wage Law to furnish each employee a statement of hours worked, wages paid and deductions made
- Law also prohibits pay discrimination on the basis of sex
- New "Violations" section states that Indiana law provides for both civil and criminal penalties for violation of the Indiana Minimum Wage Law
