WORKERS COMPENSATION

• Poster has been almost completely rewritten because of changes to the Kansas Workers Compensation Law.
• Applies to accidents or injuries on May 15, 2011, or after. 
• New information regarding when and how employees must notify their employers of an accident or injury.
  • A claim may be denied if employee fails to notify employer within the earliest of three dates:  30 days from date of accident or injury, 20 days from date of seeking medical treatment or 20 days after employee’s last day of work.
  • Notice may be given orally or in writing and must contain specific information.

• Information removed about weekly benefits and assistance available from the Ombudsman Section.
• Spanish portion of the notice also updated.
• New Revision Date of 5/11.
