The latest required changes to the Alaska labor law poster are on the Wage & Hour Act and AKOSH posters.
The new Wage & Hour Act poster outlines how the minimum wage increases to $8.75 as of February 24, 2015 and to $9.75 as of January 1, 2016. There is also an expanded list of exceptions to minimum wage and overtime requirements.
The AKOSH poster has new information which states that federal OSHA has jurisdiction over private employment only, and will not accept any complaints about discrimination by public employees. The poster no longer states that employees of private employers may also file discrimination complaints with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) OSHA in addition to Alaska’s DOL.
There is also new contact information on the AKOSH poster for making a complaint about the State administration of the plan directly to the U.S. DOL OSHA.
We are publishing an updated AK poster with these latest changes. For more information about the Alaska labor law poster, or to learn more about our 1-Year Compliance Plan with free automatic updates, go to the Poster Compliance Center Alaska labor law poster page or call 1-800-322-3636.
