As of January 1, 2017, the minimum wage in San Diego increased to $11.50.
Future Minimum Wage Changes on Our Radar
Per the ordinance that took effect July 1, 2016, starting January 1, 2019, and every year thereafter, the minimum wage increase will be based on the Consumer Price Index of the previous year.
In the event that the federal or state minimum wage increases above the level of San Diego’s, the city’s minimum wage will be increased to match the higher wage.
