The newest required change to the California labor law poster will be the inclusion of California’s new Paid Sick Leave law. The Paid Sick Leave bill, recently signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown, becomes effective July 1, 2015. Once effective, an employee is entitled to accrue up to three paid sick days in a twelve-month period. These sick days may be used for the care of the employee or an employee’s family members. Additionally, paid sick days are available to employees that are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking.
The Paid Sick Leave posting has not yet been released by the state, but we are watching for the new notice.
