California Updates Discrimination & Leave Posters; New CA Labor Law Poster Required

The latest required changes to the California labor law poster are found on the CA discrimination poster and two-family leave posters.

These three changes are based on amended state laws that go into effect Jan. 1, 2013:

  • Workplace Discrimination & Harassment —Three protected categories have been expanded:   “Religion” category now includes religious dress and grooming, “sex” category now includes breastfeeding, and the “medical condition” category now includes genetic characteristics.  No Revision Date.
  • Rights & Obligations as Pregnant Employee (Notice A) for 5 to 49 employees New section about obligations for employees to give notice.   New information about employer obligations and Pregnancy Disability Leave.   New Revision Date of 11/12.
  • Family Care & Medical Leave/ Pregnancy Leave (Notice B) for 50 or more employees New information about Pregnancy Disability Leave and what is covered.   New information about reasonable accommodations and certification forms.  New Revision Date of 11/12.
