The new required labor law poster for  Emeryville, CA is now available. This brand new poster features information regarding both of the Minimum Wage and Paid Sick Leave laws that take effect on July 1, 2015.

Minimum Wage

Following the trend of other nearby California cities, (Berkeley, Mountain View, Oakland, Richmond, San Jose, Sunnyvale, and San Francisco) Emeryville now has minimum wage requirements for all businesses within the city limits.

The city minimum wage is divided into the two categories of large businesses and small businesses. Large businesses with 56 or more employees are required to pay a minimum wage of $14.44 per hour. Smaller businesses that have 55 or fewer employees are required to pay $12.25 per hour.

The city has established annual increases through 2018, with plans to tie the minimum wage to inflation beginning July 1, 2019.

Paid Sick Leave

On the same new labor law poster, Emeryville, CA also has information about the new Paid Sick Leave law that takes effect July 1, 2015.

Under this law, all employees are credited one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked. The maximum number of hours that an employee can accrue annually is also divided into the two categories of large businesses and small businesses. For large businesses with more than 56 employees, an employee can accrue up to 72 hours of paid sick leave annually. For small businesses with less than 55 employees, an employee can accrue up to 48 hours of paid sick leave annually.
