It is getting to be that time of year again when the seasons get cooler, the holidays come too quickly, and labor law posters change frequently. You may not associate the end of the year with employment poster updates, but around here, it is our primary focus! New York is one of the states that has an established minimum wage increase, and we are watching carefully for the new poster to come out before the December 31, 2015 effective date.
What is This Year’s Minimum Wage Increase?
In late December, New York will have the final step of the three-step minimum wage increase. The wage will increase from $8.75 to $9.00 an hour. Though this is the final established step, there are a few minimum wage bills at the local and state level in New York that could potentially increase the minimum wage in the future. We are tracking those potential laws, and all other possible changes, very carefully.
