Ohio’s 2021 Minimum Wage

Cincinnati Ohio bridge

The Ohio minimum wage will rise to $8.80 per hour effective January 1, 2021. This increase is attributed to an amendment voted on by the citizens of Ohio that raises the minimum wage each year based on the Consumer Price Index to meet inflation.

Details regarding the increase:

$8.80 per hour – non-tipped employees (previously $8.70)

$7.25 per hour – small business (gross receipts of less than $323,000)

$7.25 per hour – youth workers (under age 16)

$4.40 per hour – tipped employees (previously $4.35)

It is the Employers legal responsibility to post the minimum wage and overtime information in a space that is easily visible to all employees;   such as a breakroom or another common space.
