Q&A: Federal HIPAA Poster?

Q:   Do I need to post a federal HIPAA poster?

A:   There is no federal labor law poster required for the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).

However, covered entities must comply with HIPAA requirements to protect the privacy and security of health information.   This may include distributing notices or posting certain information about how the business complies with the Act.

For further information about HIPAA and covered entities, go to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services website at  https://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/understanding/coveredentities/index.html.
