Washington Changes OSHA Labor Law Poster But Previous Version Still OK

You may have heard that a new “Job Safety and Health Law” poster has been issued by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I).

Although the safety poster is a required Washington labor law poster, the new July 2010 revision is not a required change and the previous version of the poster – December 2008 – is still valid.

More detail has been added in the “Fatality and Hospitalization” section of the OSHA poster about reporting incidents that require overnight hospitalization.  However, according to Washington State L&I, the clarification “does not impose any new requirements” and therefore is not a mandatory change.

The December 2008 version of the Washington OSHA poster is included on our current Washington all-in-one state poster with a publication date of 5/10.

If you still need to update your Washington labor law poster or have other federal or state labor law poster questions, go to the Poster Compliance Center Washington labor law poster page or call 1-800-322-3636.
