The latest required changes to the Washington, DC labor law poster are on the Equal Employment Opportunity, Family and Medical Leave Act, Parental Leave Act, and Wage Theft Prevention posters.
DC has added a new required Wage Theft Prevention poster. This poster outlines information about the Wage Theft Prevention Act of 2014.
There is also new information on the Equal Employment Opportunity poster. Under the DC Human Rights Act, language on the poster has changed to state that the District of Columbia and employers cannot discriminate. Previously, the poster stated that District of Columbia does not discriminate. Additionally, pregnancy has been added to the sex category, and new information explains that the process of filing a complaint is free.
Additional changes on the Equal Employment Opportunity poster are about the DC parental Leave Act. Under this act, “Parent” is defined as a biological mother or father rather than a natural mother or father, as it was on the previous poster. There is also a new definition of who is the guardian of a child.
Lastly, there are new individual notices for both the DC Family and Medical Leave Act and the Parental Leave Act. These new posters include more details about each of these laws.
