Federal Contractor Poster

If you are federal contractor or subcontractor, you are required to display contractor-specific labor notices (in addition to the State and Federal Labor Law Posters) at each worksite. Our Federal Contractor Poster includes the most common labor law notices required for federal contractors:

Federal Labor Law Poster FAQs

  • Do I have to post these if I pay everyone more than the minimum wage?

    Yes, the Minimum Wage poster is just one of the many labor law posters employers are required to post. Other required federal posters include:

    • Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
    • Polygraph Protection Act
    • Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
    • USERRA
    • Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA)

    Additionally, most states have required postings that employers must comply with.

  • Do I have to update my posters at the beginning of every year?

    While some labor law posters do change at the beginning of every year, other employment related posters and notices may change at any time during the year. If the change is mandatory, employers are required to update their posters.

  • Where can I purchase an E-Verify poster?

    E-Verify posters are available free upon registration for the E-Verify program with the U. S. Department of Homeland Security. Only employers who have registered for E-Verify should post the required federal posters (which can be downloaded during the registration process as proof of participation in the program). Note: This is the only official method for obtaining this federal poster. For these reasons, the E-Verify poster is not included on our labor law posters, and we don’t offer a separate poster for purchase.

  • Am I required to post the National Labor Relations Act in my facilities?

    No, employers are not required to post a National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) poster unless they are a federal contractor or sub-contractor as defined by the National Labor Relations Board. If you, as an employer, fall into one of these categories however, you must post the NLRA Poster for federal contractors. And depending on your contracts, you may be required to post other federal labor law posters as well.

  • What is the Federal Applicant Edition? Am I required to post it?

    The Federal Applicant Edition Poster contains not one, but three notices that are required to be available to all job applicants. They are:

    • Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
    • Employee Polygraph Protection Act
    • Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)

    Note: Employers are required to have notices posted where job applicants can easily view them if a Federal Labor Law Poster is not available.

  • We don’t have any independent contractors. Why do I need a Federal Contractor Poster?

    The Federal Contractor Poster is required for employers who serve as a federal contractor or federal sub-contractor. It is not required for employers who hire independent contractors.

  • How can I tell what was changed on the update you just sent me?

    Good question. You can go to the Labor Law Updates tab on our Poster Compliance Center website to check for the most recent changes and notices. There we give a status for both state and federal labor law posters. Employers can also contact us at 800-322-3636 and talk with one of our helpful customer service representatives.

  • What’s the biggest risk if I don’t update notices when required?

    As an employer, you may risk fines for non-compliance. Another risk to you is that your employees will not be informed of their rights. An unhappy employee, whose rights have not been properly communicated by displaying employment posters, may choose legal action against their employer to resolve a complaint.

  • What is the EEO Supplement?

    The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) issued the mandatory ‘EEO is the Law’ Poster Supplement. The federal EEO Poster Supplement includes four recent regulatory changes that are required to be posted by federal contractors or subcontractors and must be posted with the current federal EEO poster (dated 11/09).
