The requirements, according to Texas State Law, have changed over the years with state legislation. It is important for employers to be aware of these changes. Employers who do not take notice of these poster updates could be displaying posters that are out of compliance. Mandatory updated posting information has been documented below from 2013 to present.

Ombudsman Program

  • Amended law added to the poster (“Employer Notification of Ombudsman Program to Employees”).
  • New information that the Office of Injured Employee Counsel (OIEC) assists unrepresented injured employees with their workers compensation claims
  • New information explains that Ombudsman can help injured employees with disputed issues and attempt to resolve them or request a dispute resolution proceeding
  • New website address
  • Spanish version (on our English poster) also updated
  • Effective date of 9/1/13

  • The term “occupational diseases” has replaced “illnesses”.

  • Office of Injured Employee Counsel (OIEC) also provides free assistance and will explain injured employees’ rights and responsibilities under Workers’ Compensation Act.
