Changes Are Coming to the Federal Contractor Poster

There are two changes coming to the Federal Contractor poster, a minimum wage increase and a new Paid Sick Leave law, both effective January 1, 2017. The paid sick leave poster was recently released, and we are tracking the release of the updated minimum wage poster.

Federal Contractor Minimum Wage

The minimum wage for federal contractors will increase from $10.15 to $10.20 per hour effective January 1, 2017. The tipped wage will increase from $5.85 to $6.80 per hour. Thereafter, these rates will be adjusted annually for any inflation every January 1.

Paid Sick Leave Law

The new Paid Sick Leave law for federal contractors provides one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 56 hours per year. This new posting requirement is effective January 1, 2017.
