Several changes to the mandatory WA Job Safety and Health poster, dated 9/15, mean that it is time to update your Washington state labor law poster.
Summary of the Changes
First, similar to the recent MI OSHA change, there is a new requirement to notify the Washington Department of Labor & Industries Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) within 24 hours of any work-related non-hospitalized amputation or loss of an eye. There are also other additional changes to reporting requirements.
Employees, or a representative of the employee(s), may participate in an inspection without loss of wages or benefits. And, lastly, foreign language support is available.
The End of the Year is Nearly Here
Washington is expected to have a minimum wage adjustment at the end of this year, and may have other changes as well. In light of this information, it would be a great decision to enroll in Poster Compliance Center’s OneSystem 1-Year Compliance Plan with free automatic updates so that worrying about compliance will be a thing of the past.
