The minimum wage for the state of  New York will increase in three stages beginning Dec. 31, 2013. Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the increase into law following extensive activity in the state Senate and Assembly.

The increases include:

  • $8.00 on and after Dec. 31, 2013,
  • $8.75 on and after Dec. 31, 2014 and
  • $9.00 on and after Dec. 31, 2015.
