Nevada’s Office of the Labor Commissioner has released the state’s minimum wage and daily overtime requirements, which take effect on July 1, 2017. The rates for the upcoming year will remain unchanged from the previous year.

Even though the minimum wage and overtime rates have not been adjusted, the state has updated both the required Minimum Wage and Daily Overtime Bulletins to reflect the latest information and a new date of 2017. In addition, a new address has been provided for one of the offices of the Labor Commissioner.

For employees who are offered qualified health benefits from their employer, the minimum wage remains at $7.25 per hour. For all other employees, the minimum wage remains at $8.25 per hour. The rate for daily overtime will stay the same because the minimum wage rate is unchanged.

Certain employees must be paid overtime whenever they work more than 8 hours in a 24-hour period: employees who are offered qualified health benefits from their employer and earn less than $10.875 per hour, and those who earn less than $12.375 per hour and are not offered qualified health benefits. However, employees who are exempt from overtime under Nevada state law are not subject to these requirements.
