Work Restrictions for Youth Employees
A new notice has been released entitled "Work Restrictions for Youth Employees," which is taking the place of the Teen Worker Hour Restrictions notice. Effective January 1st, 2025, there are no working hour or time restrictions for youth workers aged 16 and 17. The new notice also states that employees younger than 18 shall not work in occupations designated as hazardous by the child labor provisions of the Fair Federal Labor Standards Act. Employers who employ more than five (5) minors under the age of 18 must register the minors in the Indiana Youth Employment System (YES), as well.
