Minimum Wage
Effective January 1, 2026, the minimum wage in New Jersey will rise to $15.92/hour for most employers, $15.23/hour for seasonal and small employers with fewer than 6 employees, $14.20/hour for agricultural employers, $18.92/hour for long-term care and facility direct care staff, and $6.05/hour for tipped workers.

Family Leave Insurance
The notice now states that employees can take leave to cope with domestic or sexual violence, when before it only stated that employees can use leave to care for a victim of violence. The notice also now states that the state Family Leave Insurance plan provides 85% of workers' average weekly wages, up to a maximum amount set for each calendar year, and that private plans must be "at least as generous" as the state plan. A section on Job Protection has been added to the notice, which states that workers who receive benefits may find their job is protected under state or federal law. Wording has been changed throughout the notice.

Wage and Hour Law Abstract
Effective January 1st, 2025, the minimum wage in New Jersey will rise to $15.49/hour for most employers, $14.53/hour for seasonal employers and small employers (with fewer than 6 workers), $5.62/hour for tipped workers, $13.40/hour for agricultural employers, and $18.49/hours for long-term care facility direct care staff. Federal Posting Requirements for New Jersey

New Jersey-Specific Labor Law Posters
In addition to the federal labor law posters listed above, New Jersey employers are also required to post the following mandatory state labor law posters. They must be displayed in a conspicuous and accessible place. Businesses that fail to post these notifications may be subject to penalties or fines.
- New Jersey Wage and Hour Law Abstract Poster: This poster details employees’ rights to be paid minimum wage and overtime wages under New Jersey law. As of January 2026, the minimum wage in New Jersey is $15.92 per hour for most employers; the minimum wage increases yearly. $18.92 per hour for long-term care facility direct care staff members, and $15.23 per hour for seasonal and small employers with fewer than six employees. Tipped employees must earn $6.02 per hour; the cash wage plus tips must equal the minimum wage.
- *New Jersey Payment of Wages Poster: New Jersey employers must notify their employees of their scheduled paydays, which must occur at least twice a calendar month, with the exception of executive and supervisory employees, who must be paid at least once a month.
- *New Jersey Worker Misclassification Notice (new, May 2020): This poster explains that worker misclassification means improperly classifying workers as independent contractors. It describes the differences between employees and contractors, lists the protections under the law for misclassified workers, and provides contact information for employees who want to file a complaint.

Under the law, certain employees may be allowed 20 days of unpaid leave within 12 months to receive care for and attend to the aftermath of domestic or sexual violence, whether it was experienced directly or by a child, parent, spouse, domestic partner, or civil union partner.

- *New Jersey Earned Sick Leave Poster: Under New Jersey law, most employees have a right to accrue up to 40 hours of earned sick leave per year.
