Effective July 1, 2025, the minimum wage in Alaska will rise to $13.00/hour. Also effective July 1, 2025, sick leave in Alaska will be mandated by law. The Wage and Hour Act notice has been updated to explain how the new policy works: 1 hour of sick leave is accrued for every 30 hours work, 40-56 hours of sick leave can be accrued and used per year depending on the number of employees the employer has, and unused sick leave hours carry forward into the next year. The notice also discusses verification, anti-retaliation protection, and exemptions.
The notice is available in English.
Child Labor Law
The Child Labor Law notice has been added to the poster. It discusses work restrictions for minors aged 14-17 years old and includes an updated section on the state's new Sick Leave law.
