Minimum Wage & Religious or Political Meetings
Effective January 1, 2026, the minimum wage in Maine will rise to $15.10/hour for non-tipped employees and $7.55/hour for tipped employees. The minimum salary requirement has been raised to $871.16/week.
A new required notice for Maine has also been released. The notice, titled Religious or Political Meetings, states that employers are barred from requiring their employees to attend meetings or receive communications about the employer's political or religious views. This law does not apply to religious employers.

Effective January 1, 2026, the minimum wage in Rockland, ME will rise to $16.75/hour for non-tipped employees and $8.38/hour for tipped employees. The notice also now defines a "service employee" as someone who regularly receives more than $191.00 per month in tips.

Paid Family and Medical Leave
The notice now states that paid family leave can be used to care for a new child through birth, adoption, or fostering.
