Spokane’s Earned Sick & Safe Leave Poster No Longer Required

As the employer’s most reliable resource for mandatory labor law posters, we want to share some important information with our Spokane, Washington customers.

The City of Spokane’s Earned Sick & Safe Leave Law is no longer in effect. The city is currently following the State of Washington’s Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) Ordinance, which went into effect on 1/1/18. The new state law is administered and enforced by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (DLI).

Effective immediately, Spokane’s Earned Sick & Safe Leave Poster is no longer required to be posted. Therefore, we have removed the product from our website, and we are in the process of contacting our customers to let them know that the poster should be removed in all their locations.

The City of Spokane has created a list of FAQs regarding the switch from the city law to the state law. While businesses are required to follow the state’s PSST Ordinance, employers may allow employees to keep certain benefits of the city law. For example, permitting employees to carry over their accrued Sick & Safe Leave hours which the City of Spokane has recommended.
