2020 Minimum Wage Increase for Federal Contractors

Minimum Wage

The minimum wage for federal contractors is adjusted annually every January 1, based on inflation, under Executive Order 13658.

New Minimum Wage Rates for 2020

Beginning January 1, 2020, federal contractors are required to pay workers performing work on, or in connection with, covered contracts a minimum wage of at least $10.80 per hour.

Tipped employees must be paid a cash wage of at least $7.55 per hour. If a worker’s tips combined with the required cash wage are less than the hourly minimum wage, federal contractors must make up the difference.

The updated 2020 Minimum Wage notice is now available on our Federal Contractor poster and has a new revision date of 1/20.
