A New Poster for Arizona Is On the Horizon

On January 1, 2017, based on a new law that passed in the November 2016 election, Arizona’s minimum wage will increase, and Arizona employees will be eligible for earned paid sick time.

Details of the Pending Updates

Based on The Fair Wages and Healthy Families Act, the minimum wage rate in Arizona will increase to $10.00 per hour, effective January 1, 2017. This will be followed by annual adjustments through 2020.

Plus, in companies with 15 or more employees, workers in Arizona will be eligible to accrue 1 hour of earned paid sick time for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours.

In companies with 15 or fewer employees, workers in Arizona will be eligible to accrue 1 hour of earned paid sick time for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 24 hours.
