On December 31, 2017, the minimum wage in New York will increase once again by varying amounts, depending on an employer’s location. The state provides different wage rates for the following regions: New York City, Long Island & Westchester County, and the remainder of the state, which is referred to as Greater New York State.

Regional Minimum Wage Rates
New York City
For large employers (11 or more employees), the minimum wage in New York City will increase to $13.00 per hour. For small employers (10 or fewer employees), the minimum wage will increase to $12.00 per hour.
Long Island & Westchester County
The minimum wage will increase to $11.00 per hour in Long Island and Westchester County.
Greater New York State
In Greater New York State, the minimum wage will increase to $10.40 per hour.
Future Minimum Wage Increases
As we reported last year, the minimum wage in New York State is scheduled to increase at the end of each year, for the different regions, until it reaches $15.00 per hour.
