Stop the Presses—South Carolina Updates Safety & Health Notice

South Carolina’s Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation just issued an update to the state’s Safety and Health Protection on the Job notice, which has a revision date of July 2018.

We recently reported that our South Carolina poster was being updated to include information on the new Pregnancy Accommodations Act, which appears on the state’s revised Employment Discrimination notice.

We are pleased to tell our customers that our trusty Research Department discovered the OSHA change for South Carolina just moments before our poster was printed. This means that both of these updates will be on the poster that our customers receive.

What’s Changing on the OSHA Notice?

Federal OSHA Requirements Added

The Safety and Health Protection on the Job notice now states that employers must report to OSHA all work-related fatalities within 8 hours, and all inpatient hospitalizations, amputations, and losses of an eye within 24 hours.

Contact information for reporting these incidents by phone or in-person is provided on the notice.
