Tacoma Ballot Results and What You Need to Know

Along with the required paid sick leave poster, effective February 1, 2016, Tacoma will also have a new minimum wage law as a result of the passage of the City of Tacoma Initiative Measure No. 1B. Under this initiative, the minimum wage increases to $10.35 beginning February 1, 2016 and would later increase to $11.15 effective January 2017, to $12.00 effective January 2018, and there will be future increases that are tied to the state CPI thereafter.

What This Means for Our Customers

We already have the required poster for the paid sick leave law, and are looking out for the mandatory minimum wage poster to become available so that we can send out both posters at the same time. Currently, a series of public commentary meetings are under way so that the community can give feedback on elements of the rulemaking process for the law. After these meetings, which end on December 17th, we expect the minimum wage poster to become available.
